Workshop MINIMURAL & STREETPOST
This summer, street artist Steve “ESPO” Powers and artist Mimi Gross (85) will create the 13th mural in project space Next – as a complement to the exhibition STREET ART MUSEUM. Twelve murals are already on display there, telling remarkable historical stories from the Boschstraat. ESPO’s new work will be an ode to the street of today, inspired by conversations with residents and entrepreneurs.
During the summer holidays, all kinds of fun free activities will be organized around this mural!
Imagine that you’re creating a mural in your own street or neighborhood – what would it look like? In this workshop, you’ll create your own mini mural, inspired by your own street or neighborhood. Just like ESPO, we’ll use stories and features of a place as a starting point and translate them into images. The MINIMURAL workshop takes place every Thursday morning during the summer holidays.
Dates | Thursday July 17 |
Starttime | 11:00 hours |
Duration | Max 3 hours |
Age | From 7 years onwards |
Tip | Can’t make it at 11:00? No problem – you can join later and still take part. You will miss the short tour of the STREET ART MUSEUM exhibition, but you’ll still be able to join the rest of the program. |
Feeling creative? This summer holiday, you can get hands-on at Next – even outside of the workshops! Design your own postcard in street art style, inspired by ESPO’s mural. Leave your card in the postcard rack for another visitor, or take it with you: give it to a stranger, hang it on your fridge, or send it to a friend. That way, your artwork – and your story – continues its journey beyond the museum walls.
