The 13th mural
This summer, street artist Steve “ESPO” Powers and artist Mimi Gross (85 years old) will create the 13th mural in project space Next – as a complement to the exhibition STREET ART MUSEUM. There you can already find 12 murals that tell remarkable historical stories from Boschstraat. ESPO’s new mural will pay tribute to the street of today, inspired by conversations with residents and entrepreneurs.
Steve ESPO Powers, born in 1968 in Philadelphia, started his career as a graffiti artist. He grew into a renowned contemporary artist, with galleries in New York, Tokyo, and now also Boschstraat. His unique style combines text and image and is often fueled by conversations with local communities. In this way, he creates art that truly touches people.
Mimi Gross (1940) is a versatile artist who has exhibited worldwide, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is an important source of inspiration for ESPO. Her work also stems from encounters with people. For the 13th mural, they will collaborate for the first time: together on the street and painting together.
