Nature inspires movement – BIJ/NA 2026 residency
For the annual BIJ/NA residency project, the six participating artists – Heba Bardan, Jitske Perdijk, Sam de Lange, Niek Opstals, Miekie Capello and Charly van der Eerden – were tucked away in Zundert. At Atelier De Moeren, the six artists were able to work freely for two weeks; a special place to immerse themselves in the inspiration of Vincent van Gogh himself.
For the following two weeks, the artists worked at the StadsGalerij in Breda, where the opening of the final presentation took place last Saturday and they showcased what had been created in the preceding weeks.
BIJ/NA is a collaboration between Stedelijk Museum Breda, Van Gogh AiR and St. Joost School of Art & Design. For the BIJ/NA project, three newly graduated artists are brought together each year with three experienced artists. All of them are graduates of St. Joost School of Art & Design. The dynamic process within a non-hierarchical structure and collaborative working are central to the project.
During the working period in Zundert, Rebekka van den Berg visited the artists and reported on behalf of Witte Rook: Nature provides movement – BIJ/NA residency 2026
