We, the artists of Breda!

Part II

The successful first edition of We, the artists of Breda! is now followed by Part two. Once again we present a selection from the work of the artists of Breda. The exhibition is on view in NEXT, in the auditorium and in the entrance area of the museum.

By offering Breda artists a platform and bundling their artistic forces, the museum aims to make arts more visible in the city. We, the artists of Breda! (Part II) was created in close collaboration with initiator and curator Jordy Koevoets. The participating artists are Peter Bouwmans, John van Gils, Noortje Haegens, Corrie van Heijst, Samuel Hortulanus, Matthieu van Riel, Renée van Trier, Melissa van Venrooij, Michiel van der Zanden and Wiebke Zander.

Opening and performance: All Can Be Softer

The exhibition will be opened on Saturday 1 September by Jordy Koevoets and Dingeman Kuilman, general director of Stedelijk Museum Breda.

At the opening, the Dutch premiere of All Can Be Softer, a performance by Renée van Trier, will take place. The performance was previously performed at MadHouse Helsinki and Arsenic, Centre d’art scénique contemporain in Lausanne, among others.

We, the artists of Breda! (Part II) will be presented in NEXT, in the auditorium and in the entrance area. Admission is free.

We, the artists of Breda!
This exhibition series is part of a programme line with which Stedelijk Museum Breda wants to offer a platform to visual artists from Breda and artists who are clearly associated with the city – for example because they were trained here or because they lived in the city for part of their life. Earlier this year, Stedelijk Museum Breda presented We, the artists of Breda! (Part I).
