A fun day out with your family: Discover the history and art of Breda together in the Stedelijk Museum. Let your children explore the collection at their own pace with the special art treasure hunt or explore together on a (historical) walk.
For the very youngest museum visitors, there is the Art Viewing Puzzle. Children are given a viewing card to go and look for specific fragments of images and associations in the exhibition The Collection. A few works are highlighted. The children learn to look carefully at fragments of the image and where they belong. If they find all the artworks, they can pick up a little gift at the reception.
Join a treasure hunt in the museum! And continue the search with a walk through the centre of Breda. Philip William, the oldest son of William of Orange, was kidnapped by Philip II and held hostage at the Spanish court. Philip William secretly contacts his father and leaves behind secret codes.
This treasure hunt, with questions and assignments related to various objects in the museum and the city, can be picked up at the museum’s reception. By answering the questions, the clues that Philip William has scattered around are collected. Have you found them all? Then you can crack the code and find the secret location of Philip William.
